Well, I certainly hope your mechanical knowledge surpasses your ability to construct sentences and spell in the English language.
Good luck with that!

Try something like this:

I am a desktop technician with a mechanically oriented mind but little "hands on" experience when it comes to cars. In order to further my ongoing education with my 19xx 911, I would be willing to work occasionally without pay for a qualified mechanic who could, in return, show me some procedures for proper maintenance and repair. I would also be available to perform other odd jobs in return for having some work done to my car. If interested, please send me a PM. Thank you.

Whew.. what a relief!

From the location and user name, I figured the first step would be to check his Green Card!

M0-Gearhead- we got places, like the front of the local home depot, to get all the illegal help we need for manual labor type things. I dont think any of the "paisans" (that's what we call the hard working illegals out here) have any expierence working on porsches. Otherwise I'd be hanging out with those guys, looking for that special Paisan that can wrench on porsches.
