Defrost conversion ideas

Has anyone done an electric defrost conversion?
I live in Florida where obviously, we don't need the heater but windshield defrost is still required now & then.

With headers, the heat has been eliminated.
I'm thinking that the ventilation box (under the windshield) could be modified to incorporate 1 or 2 electric heating elements.

Ideas, comments?

Get one of those 'travel' hair dryers that plug into the cig lighter. That's what a friend w/ an old Ferrari did. Easy, cheap, you only need it once in a while...

I've used Rain-X Anti Fog treatment with pretty good success.

I bought an electric heater on clearance at pep boys for something like $8 a few years ago.

Right now I still just plug in the thing and point it wherever - but I'd like to plumb it into the heater vents sometime.

Works well, though. And cheap.
