Original Build Sheet?

Hey everyone. My question is a pretty simple one. I've heard of people obtaining the original build sheet for their vintage 911's; and, I was just wondering how one would go about getting a hold of something like that? I'd really like to be able to get a hold of an original build sheet for my 911.

Thanks in advance.

Bump. No one has any ideas? I was thinking of just e-mailing Porsche and seeing if they could do anything for me. Sounds like that's going to be my best bet...

I think that's the only option for build sheets. I could be wrong though.

I believe what you are referring to is a "COA." Certificate of Authenticity. It's available through Porsche for around $125. Go to their web-site and start the process. Be patient, it takes a while, but you will receive the build date, options, motor number, trans number, paint color, etc. That's, of course, after you provide the chassis number. Hope this helps.

Thanks! That actually helps quite a 'bit. I went to the Porsche USA site and shot them an email with the VIN number, so hopefully I'll hear back from them some time soon.

Here is a link to the form you will need to complete to obtain a CoA for your 911. It is through Porsche North America.

You may want to do a search on these COA. I was going to get one, but I heard that they are rarely accurate. So, if it isn't correct what's the point?

COA...

Howdy,

I just had a Certificate of Authenticity completed by P of NA. It was close to $100. However the first try they missed listing several of the options including the M491, Wide Body... I called back and the lady in "Customer Service" was very nice and accommodating and had the C of A re-issued with the correct up dates.

However a little disappointing that some of this information fell through the cracks, and it isn't free... I was hoping for help my my L999 paint code, zip, nada...

PCNA will correct the info and send you a new COA. The new people/dept handling these are very responsive and helpful. My 72 COA came with a listing for "Optional Turbo Look" - obviously not available on a 72 T Targa. When I called them on this, they told me that they had some errors in their option codes and were fixing them as they came up. The promptly overnighted me a new correct COA.

Can PCNA provide a COA for an RoW car? Jeez, look at all of the abbreviations.
