A-arm bracket - which way is up?

I'm trying to put my suspension back together and can't figure out which way to put on the rear bracket for the a-arm.

It has a "flare " to it - which way is up? Does the wide end face up or down?

Please help quick - the car is already scheduled for an alignment soon!

Thanks in advance!!

"rear bracket for the A arm"

I'm confused, just what are you describing here?

The bracket or carrier for the A-arm that the rear bushing sits in.

Trying to help, but lets be sure we are on the same page.

A-arm you are describing is the front suspension piece (not rear banana arm?) Correct?

The rear of that is located by the front cross member. It can only be mounted one way, the steering gear housing bolts to the top of it. What am I missing here?

I too am a little confused, Wahoofan. Check out the parts diagram in this link and identify the part you mean.

Never mind - I figured it out myself by matching up the rub marks on one of them. Wider end goes UP.

BTW - I was referring to the mounting brackets that are shown on either end of the A-arm(Part #12 in the above parts diagram). These are shown as part of the A-arm, but come off and are re-used if you install new bushings.

Thanks to all!
