car too light? '73 T
I've got a '73 T w/2.7 webers. fiberglass spoiler. no other weight saving measures.
just weighed it with a full tank of fuel and it came in at 2290 lbs. ( without driver) is the factory spec that far out? the scale is known to be quite accurate. can anyone tell me , does this sound reasonable? how much do your similar cars weigh? Don. |

I don't think you're too far off.
My '73 has a 3.2 in it, and no interior, and a few other things not installed yet. When I had it corner balanced, after adding 200 pounds in the driver's seat, it was just over 2200. |

Just to give you another one:
My '70 with 3.0/carbs, full SC suspension, lightweight seats/door panels/carpet, and steel bumpers comes in at 2171 with 1/3 tank of gas.

My 73.5T with 2.4/CIS is very light!! I just put on new Dunlops, rotors, pads and Blue Racing Brake fluid. Coming back from the lake yesterday I had to hit the brakes hard to avoid hitting this guy with his trailered boat. I skidded a bit too long for my comfort zone!!!!! Although Porsche's brake are oversized and legendary for stopping power the longhoods are light footed and often you have to rely on "driving out of trouble" then relying on braking power with that weight.

What 1970 model was 1,700 lbs? Even the 1967 911R was heavier than that...

well, you can always argue that the Tour de France car was not really a "model"...
