Brake upgrade

Hello

(I did a search but didn't find what I am looking for)

I bought a set 964 turbo brakes + rotors.

I'm planning to put them onto my 911 from '77.
Rear is no problem.

But for the front:
I want to place them the same way they are as on a 964 turbo (caliper under an angle)

Does anyone has a drawing for such an adapter.
All the adapters that I can find result in a vertical standing caliper

Regards
Porscheke

???
the calipers can certainly be easily modified, but to fit 930 rear rotors, 965 rears won't work at all.

All 964, 965 including RS mount the front calipers at the same angle in front

you just need appropriate caliper adapters to bolt to your existing wheel carriers.

Do you have the 2 piece 32x322 front rotors? If so you only need hats to bolt them on, if not it's more complicated.

Hello Bill

I have bought 965 rotors and calipers.
The front brake disc front (left) 965 3,3l 322mm has this number: 965 351 043 00.

The front and rear rotors are already mounted.
The rear caliper is also mounted (only the mounting holes had to be adjusted)

My biggest problem is to mount the front caliper under an angle (the same angle as the 964/965)

So my question is:
Does anybody here have got a technical drawing of an adapter so that the caliper is mounted under an angle (same as 964/965) on a '77 car

Regards
Porscheke

Is it the 2 piece version where the hats can be swapped?

I'd like to see pictures of that. 965 rear rotors should not fit, the 965 calipers fit the much larger 930 rear rotors when the holes are modified as you describe

This is a pic of the Brembo adapters I used to mount those brakes on my '76 C3
I bought mine from Race Technology, in Europe Movit might be a possibility
They look like this mounted

in the back the 965 calipers and 930 rotor will look like this

Hello Bill

This is the adapter that I am looking for (black adapter on the white box)

Rear:
Adjust the holes on the caliper
Reduce the diameter of the rear disc a little bit (about 6mm)
Looks just like your picture

Front:

THAT IS THE ADAPTER !! That is the way I want to mount the front calipers
Do you have an technical drawing of it.
I have a single piece disc so I can't swap the hats.

Hope you can help me

Regards
Bart

In the back that is a '78 -89 930 rotor 28x309, the 965 rear rotor is 28x299 and does not fit like that.

As i said the caliper adapters are a Brembo item, I bought from Race Technology, In Europe Movit or FVD or Cargraphic probably have the same item.

The 1 piece 965 rotors are awkward and heavy, I would use the 2 piece versions w/ a flat aluminum hat on a 911.

I've checked with FVD & Movit (germany), but I can't find this type of adapter.

Do you have some more info of it.

No, you might try Race Technologies in Ca.

I believe VCI's adaptor results in the more vertical caliper placement that he doesn't want.

As an aside, I saw an F1 car with the calipers mounted at 6 o'clock. Seems that is one way to help lower the CG a few mm.

Hello

-Got a reply from pelican parts sales department:
"we are not able to get that caliper adapter separately".

-Also not available from Race technologies.
-Also Rennsportsystems doesn't sell these separately.
-??

Can anybody please help me to find such adapters?
Mechanical drawing of the adapters would be also great, because then I can make them myself

Hope to hear soon from anyone here on the forum

I can make that caliper mount for you. We make caliper mounts and brake hats in house every day. The only thing we don't do in house is the anodize. We have a few Porsche hats and brackets in stock.

I do not have that one on the shelf as we have never produced that exact mount. However making will not be difficult.

We also have the caliper mount studs, "K" nuts, and NAS washers plus Brembo parts.

I would need a sample or a sketch (paper or cad) and will produce a quantity to keep in stock. From a sample I can scan it for precise fit. If anyone has a sketch we can accept virtually any cad file format (we use SolidWorks).

If you wish to discuss give me a call @ 704-799-8100.

Ashley Page

Here is a 73 RSR front hat and Brmebo rotor for use with the stock caliper. Also have the rear with aluminum hat.

BertBeagle,

What type of aluminum do you recomend for hubs and disc adapters ...2014A ??

Porscheke,

I thing i can make the design of this angled adapter, but if your calipers are not the euro RS type i do not know precise where the radial mounting surface i located.. and i need to know the angle they are rotated in around the hub center.

Regards Roslin
