915 Trans question
Hello-
I purchased a 1984 915 Trans the studs I think the support bracket go through seem to be bent. What does this take to repair? Cost? Is there any way to see if the trans is ok sitting on the floor. I'm concerned maybe I got ripped off. I paid $1800 + shipping from a guy off Ebay. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks |

Can you post a pic for us?
I would think that if the studs are bent you may have a cracked case. Does it leak any fluid? What is supposed to be usable for that price? I hope so.

The studs are screwed into a pretty beefy part of the nose case. There are 4 M8 studs inserted into the case and they are removable. I would remove the bracket and check it out. Hopefully, you just need to put in some new ones. With damage like that, I would be concerned if the selector rod might be bent. Have you tried shifting it by rotating and push/pulling the rod?
