Options for front hubs: widebody front

So let's say you were going to flare the front of a stock-narrow 911, 930 width is fine. What are the options for filling the wheel well. Here are choices off the top of my head.

1. Stock 911 hub with wheel spacer and longer studs.

2. Stock 911 hub with bolt-on wheel adapter. (EEWW)

3. Late 930 wide offset hub. Have to deal with the rotor reposition unless I fit 930 or 993 calipers/adapters.

4. Wheels with different offset.

So the question is... Will other front hubs work? I know you can use a 912 hub to gain more fender lip clearance since the hub is more narrow. Is there a similar cross over in the other direction. Can I use a 951 hub on a 911 spindle? Are the hubs different? If the 951 Fuchs have more offset than a stock fuchs the wheel gets moved out with 911 fuchs. Correct?!

What about a 928 hub?

A bonus for these applications would be the use of their larger, relatively inexpensive front rotors. Would any of these allow for press on front rotors like BoxsterS, 993 or 996? I understand that some machining on a lathe would be part of it.

Let me have it tear into the idea...

You summed it up well.

Not sure what you mean be "press on" Use any 911 hub w/ any 911 rotor or a 911 rotor w/ a flat hat, or a 993tt rotor w/ a flat hat.
Yes, spacer or different o/s wheels

Use late 930 o/s rotors w/ late 930 o/s hubs.
no spacer w/ 911/944 23.3mm o/s wheels or use a spcer w/ late low o/s wheels.

Either the rotor hat or the rotor in the case of one piece rotors still bolts to the hub.

Thanks Bill. I meant press on rotors such as a 911 rear where the rotor fits on the outside of the hub, not bolted on the backside of the hub.

Any idea if 951 or other front hubs will fit and provide a wider stance?

I want to go with late 930 hubs but they are harder to find and not within the budget.

AFAIK only 911 or 930 hubs will work.

If you are going to do it do it right.

Someone, I think it was Mike the mechanic, used 993 rotors over 911 hubs. I have no idea what machiune work may have been involved.

There is no advantage to doing this as the 993 rotors have the same annulus, 32x304 as the late 930.

As long as 930 fenders are used 930 hubs and late 930 rotors are the best way to go.
