3.6 993 Varioram engine in 1980 SC
Is it possible to use stock 993 exhaust and heat when mounting a 993 Varioram engine in a 1980 SC if I move the oil tank to the front/trunk?

You should do a search for 3.6 conversions.... TONS of info.
To answer your question, you can still use the Heat exchangers but you will need a aftermarket tail pipe ( A few pelicans make them) and a modified feed pipe for the heater. |

First, none of this entails moving the oil tank, that is a completely separate and unrelated issue. You use the stock 993 headers and cat but not the mufflers. There isn't enough room even when the oil tank is moved. This leaves the remaining issue of mufflers and tail pipe. or use just the headers and plumb the mufflers of you choice to that. It's awkward but has been done several different ways. Do a search. or Use aftermarket headers and plumb the mufflers to them, this is somewhat more straitforward than using 993 stuff. Here is mine w/ B&b headers and a Flowmaster muffler ![]() As for the heat yes, long runs of SCAT or SKEET tube can be used w/ the stock 993 heat tube to connect to the body. I used a 964 heat tube which is plumbed like the stock SC or Carrera, again just more straightforward.
