Well........ I hate to admit doing the same thing recently
![]() So far no problems, other than shortening the life of the parking brake pads I don't believe any harm has been done. Jay

Yep... if your p-brake isn't holding very well anymore, then you might want to check the p-brake pads... otherwise no harm done.

I did the same thing on my '89 3.2 coupe. The dash warning light cluster is not working so there I go down the road with the P-brake lightly engaged.
About a mile just like you the car starts to shudder. I though....man whats wrong. I slow down and it goes away. Speed up and major vibration/shuddering. Then I saw the handle was still in an upwards position. Dang it! Release lever and bingo no more vibrations. Everything seems OK. Although when I pulled over for a look see there was some hot brake odor and a sensation of heat radiating from the wheels. Now on every drive I do a pre-flight check and release P-brake lever. David

I would at least check the brake fluid level and brake pad wear. Most likely there is no damage, but you may have to readjust the parking brake and depending on the amount of water in the brake fluid beforehand, you may want to flush the system. There is a very very remote chance that the rear rotor hats may have been distorted due to heat, but it sounds like you caught it in time.

I did the same thing, now every 300-400 miles I need to add around 18 gallons of gas!!!
I wouldn't worry about it
