I have a spare late 80's G50 from my race car I am thinking of selling and was curious as to what these have been selling for recently.
It is in very good condition but I don't the exact year or if it has a limited slip diff. The number on the case is 950/01 74H 00802 Thanks

Hard to score a G50 for less than $2K these days. LSD obviously demands more. Unknown mileage and the possible racing use obviously opens the door for buyer speculation and negotiation.
According to the serial number your trans. is an 87 model (the 950 and "H" gives it away, as the J and K model years then changed to G50 number convention) and an open diff (the "/01" gives it away). But who's to say a LSD wasn't installed at a later date? Turning one of the output flanges to see if they counterrotate would give that away of course. That's assuming a LSD in there isn't completely worn and even then I don't think the flanges would counterrotate. Wish I could afford to buy it, as i'd like to install an LSD and re-gear mine!

I had a G50/50 stolen from my house recently only to be recycled by some druggies.
I would agree with KTL and value a G50/01 at $2k or more depending on condition and limited slip.

Thanks for the information.
How do I tell if it has a ltd slip diff? If they counter rotate it has one or the opposite? I purchased this tranny as a back up to the G50 in my race car but it has proven to be bullet proof and I don't feel I need to keep the spare any longer. I purchased it from one of the Porsche bone yards Oklahoma Foreign I think and I was told it didn't have that many miles on it but who knows.

If it has LSD the flanges should rotate in the same direction when turning only one of them.

OK, if no one else is going to be a wiseguy:
Almost nothing! I'll be right over to drag it away for you. ![]() Do a search and you'll get some ideas of value. Also, you can call a few salvage places and see what they are asking for similar units.
