strange warm up sound ??????

installed a 3.0 liter into our 75 carrera and durring warmup it makes a groaning or low pitched howl sound from the oil filter the filter is a new mahle. it makes this sound for the first 3 min. of warm up. after that it goes away and seems fine. during this said "sound" you can rest your hand on the oil filter and it seems to be viberating while it makes this sound. the car has great oil pressure and has over 400 miles on the install. i thought that maybe it was air at first but it hasnt changed im gona replace the filter and see what happens.

was just wondering if anyone has heard of this.

Garage
How cold is it when starting (didn't see a location)?
Possibly pressure bypassing with thick oil during warm up?
My guess anyway....
