17" TIRE QUESTION - Brand & Sizing

Hell0 - I have a 1982 Porsche 911 SC with 17" wheels. They are 17x7.5 Fronts with 205/50-17 and 17x8.5 Rears with 255-40-17.

I am going to replace my tires soon with the FALKEN RT-615; however, Falken does not offer a 205/50-17 inch tire for my front wheels.....can I run 40 series tires all the way around?

Front Wheels: 17x7.5 with 205/40-17
Rear Wheels: 17x8.5 with 255/40-17

I am not sure how big of a difference that would make...just a lower profile tire in the front, right?

Also - does anyone have any experience with the FALKEN RT-616 tire on 911's?

Thanks so much for your help!

It depends a bit on the wheel o/s but 215/45 or 225/45 x17 would be a better match for 255/40 rears
