Best color matcher in SoCal? Dupont brand
I have a 10 year old paint job that looks great, but there are a few area that need fixing. touchup paint has gone off but its Dupont brand by the label.
Any recommendations for a shop that can get the match purrrfect? I tried just ordering the paint by the code on the can and its waaaay dark. Faded? or maybe different mixing pigments I'm thinking. thanks brer |

Give Kevin a call at Automotive Innovations and Restorations in Van Nuys. He'll know who the best paint suppliers are. Kevin's a great guy, and he'll set you straight. He's KevinP73 here on the board.

I ordered paint from Levine Auto a few years ago for 1985 911. Matched almost perfectly, Platinum Metallic.
About 1.5 years later I ordered again and it was off. Fortunately I kept the original can and sent them all the blend numbers. There was a change in the base to a newer one so they remixed the old and replaced it for free. BTW, I got Porsche touch-up paint the first round thinking it would be a good reference. It did not match worth a darn. Just FYI |

Clean the car then take it to any good automotive paint supply house and they should have a digital camera that can take a pic of a flat area of the car and determine the correct mix. It takes into account any fading and should be a perfect match.

Stan Betz at "Betz Speed and Color" in Orange, it is on Katella not far from the freeway. 714-997-3113, he is the best I have used, he matched Motorcycles from the teens, early cars and bikes, Perfect. He does anything with paint.

If you are still in San Diego try your local paint jobber stores. If you remove your gas cap and take it down to the store they can match it based on that piece.
One of the stores below should be able to help you out. ![]() you should take meza off that list by the way. I really do not like that place personally. Jeraulds is a nice little shop with Dupont, I have been there for paint before. |

glad to hear the nice remarks about Kevin. I'll add a +1 based on my brief experience with him thus far. that said, he will be ground-up repainting my 911, so i'm happy to hear his praises!
