Question Help ! front condenser blower

My front condenser blower does not work when the A/C is on. The clutch engages on the compressor when the A/C switch is turned on. (So I am pretty sure the fuse and switch are OK) The front condenser blower does work when I applied battery voltage directly to it, so the blower itself is O.K . I replaced the condenser blower relay and the A/C fuse. Any ideas on what else to check???

Thanks,

Mike

There should be another fuse for the condenser installed inline.

There is another condenser blower fuse inline? Where is it located? I traced the wiring back as far as I could from the blower and did not see one....It would explain alot if I could find that fuse !

Thanks.

Mike

The front condenser fan fuse was not standard in 1985. I’m not sure when it became standard. The in-line front condenser fuse, 911.612.077.00, may have been added somewhere along the line. It is very near the front fan itself; here’s what mine looked like after I installed it

Front Condenser Fan

Check the relay. I just corrected the same problem on my SC by replacing the (black) a/c fan relay. On my car it was the second from the front.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the replies Paul and Fred- I looked and it does not look like I have an inline fuse .
I already replaced the relay. Maybe I have some other problem. Next I will check voltage output going to the relay.

Thanks again,

Mike

The front condenser fan fuse was an after thought by Porsche, I believe. I just added the same fuse to be on the safe side. Fires have been known to break out at the condenser fan and the fuse will safegaurd that from happening.

Is the blower motor good? Hook up directly to battery to see.

Check the fusees, then the motor.

I just had to replace the condenser fan motor in my '95.

FYI Pelican has very good pricing here
