I have an extra 1978 3.0L sitting in my garage. I will take a picture of the hoses and how they route if that can help.

another question. will I lose vacuum if I just leave the egr valve disconnected without the pipe going to the exhaust, but leaving the one going to the airbox, if the small vacuum lines going to egr are disconnected??

I fabricated a block off plate for the base of the egr, and am leaving it on there vacuum disconnected.. Can't hurt anything, and I cant figure a way to get my hand around there with it in the car.. Another question.. The two vacuum lines from the egr run into the back of the throttle body, when I was taking them out I realized one had a tee going to the vacuum advance.. Which port on the back of the throttle body should I connect the vacuum advance from distributer to..?? Thanks

Zach

The airbox I've seen with the original EGR use a large hollow fitting with a round plastic or rubber seal for the EGR pipe to go through. All this is mounted in the passenger side of the lower airbox.

I've just removed the complete fitting and replaced it with a similar size plug.

It would allow air to enter the airbox under conditions of high vacuum without the EGR pipe in place.

Here's one of the pipe fitting in the airbox.
