				89-94 H5s in an SC

Will 89-94 H5 headlights fit into my SC buckets? If there are plug adaptations, will they fit cosmetically until that can be done?

I think the real question is why would you want to put on a replacement with a substandard beam pattern and less light output? Put the Euro H4s on it. That is by far the best lighting upgrade you can do on the car.

From what I can tell on mine, they are a direct bolt in/plug in. I'm getting used to the H5's and starting to like them. Whoops, I just read that the plug is different. The buckets should be the same. I have not seen any significant differences, but I have seen everything, yet. Last edited by milt; 08-20-2007 at 07:10 AM.. | ||

Well, at this point it would be just as an aesthetic fix...get rid of the sugar scoops...I have been told that the 89-94 wont fit as the fender is diff....I do not buy this...can anyone tell me if they will or won't? I only drive the girl during the daytime and on weekends, so quality at this point is less imp as looks (soun ds like my first marriage)

I don't think they'll be a straight bolt in since the H5 aiming bucket/cage uses four threaded tabs that are inside the fender bucket to mount the H5 assembly? I don't have a picture handy to show this and a search in the archives didn't result in anything for me.

H-5's are a huge improvement over sealed beams, but the H-4's are better.

H4s are easy to install - don't do what I did in 1999 and go for the sexy smooth US federalized H5s - they sucked big time compared to the H4s I installed later when I was........smarter. No wonder the guy was so happy I bought them........

H5s are US only junk. Buy H4s with and a set of paintable rings. You'll get the look you are after, and really good head lights. They plug right in, and are held on by one screw.
