Thinking Of Building An RSR & Need Some Info
Hey Guys,
I am thinking about buildding an RSR look car and I have the following questions: 1. I would like to either do a 1971, 1972, or 1973 car and was wondering which year is the best to build an RSR out of? 2. In terms of the motor I would like to put some kind "trick" motor in it so, which model has the best combination of power, reliability and fit in an earlier car? What are things to look out for when building? All the "need to know" tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Onassis91 |

1971 or 1973 would be fine. The 1972's oil door is not typically seen on an RSR. You would probably like the 3.6L engine the best. With that, I would recommend a 1973 for the 915 transmission. I believe that it is a better choice of transmission to handle the 3.6L's horsepower.

A 1972 or 1973 chasis year would be a good candidate. The transmission tunnel was widened and fits a 915 well. Also the rear shock towers were a bit bigger so if you choose to run coilovers, they will fit right side up, 69 - 71 chasis would need to run them upside down.
A 964 3.6 or a 95 993 3.6 would make a nice engine for your car. |

or backdate a G50 carrera and drop a 3.6 in it.
