Question No start up

Hi guys, i just removed the distributor so i can get accesses to cam oil line because it was loose and leaking oil. Before i removed the distributor, i made sure that it was TDC. I reinstalled the distributor and cap and now my engine just turns over. At some point it seems like its gonna start but it doesn't. O'God Help PLEASE...

I would bet that your distributor is 180 degrees out. When you pulled the distributor did you check that it was at TDC and that the rotor was pointed at plug wire #1? If you didn't check the plug wire position of the rotor, I'd just pull the distributor back out, rotate the rotor 180 degrees, and try it again.

sabeo.m,

Was the rotor pointing to the notch on the edge of the housing when you originally set the engine to TDC?

Start with the easy first. Check your point gap. Reset the engine to TDC and static time the distributor with a trouble light to get it in the ballpark. Check the connections to the coil. Check that the rotor is all the way seated. Check to see you have spark to any plugs.

All simple checks, easy to do, and will probably lead to a simple solution.

edit: Rex, you type too fast!
