Help what is this wire for

Can anyone tell me what the white wire to the right of the fuse panel is for?, mine has nothing connected to it but I have seen one other that was connected to a ground but I don't know what it is for. Thanks LM3929

no and applying power or grounding it doesn't seem to get anything else to work.

Where does the wire go, into the fuse box or routed behind it? The highlights in the photo are a little blown out. It looks like the wire wraps around the existing wire attached to no. 1 fuse (which may be activated by the ign. switch). Sherwood

it is routed into the harness behind the fuse panel and goes up in the harness towards the instruments
