Fabspeed question

THe slippery slope of increased performance has suck me in. The first thing I plan on getting is one of Steve's performance chips mated to performance exhaust. I've been looking at lots of different exhaust options and one really sticks out. Unfortunately it is expensive as heck. Has anybody had any experience with the fabspeed 911 MAXFLO Header Muffler Kit with HEAT $2,695 without NO-HEAT $2,295 ? If so how did it fare? It seems like a crapload of money and I wonder if it is really worth it? All suggestions are welcomed

Fabspeed makes shiny stuff that costs twice as much as other brands and does exactly (if not less) the same.

Just my opinon.

Get SSI's and an M&K 2in2out. Stick with the Steve Wong chip. I met him the other day and WOW does he know his stuff.

Hold on, here comes the "SSIs suck on Carreras" crowd.

Do you have to get your car through smog? If so SSIs may not be the best choice

Another option: premuffler, exhuast & chip. The premuffler will have to swapped out for smog, but a lot easier.

The Fabspeed header/muffler kit appears to be well designed and constructed. The price is not out of line w/ other similar offerings.

I have had onluy good experiences w/ Fabsped products, though not w/ that particular item.

It is certain that SSI @ 1 1/2"OD is on the small side for a 3.2

The only reasonably priced 1 5/8"OD headers w/ heat that I have seen for this application are the B&B and Fabspeed. Fabspeed appears to be the better design.

I have 1 3/4" OD B&B headers that I have used for many years, they are OK but again the Fabspeed header appears to be a better product.

Whatever you do avoid the B&B(and apparantly GHL) mufflers. I used to have them but they fall apart and are a very poor choice.

What Bill said !
I have the Fabspeed Euro Pre-Muffler and dual out exhaust on my 3.2. Also have Steve's
Chip. I had issues with the fit between the pre muf and muffler. Fabspeed no help at all !
cost me to get flange rewelded !!! IT is a pretty set up and the sound it fantastic .
I'd seriously look at the Dansk pre muf with M&K muffler, or if Ben has a pre muf get his.
check here on Pelicanparts. Good Luck !
Chuck
