Area under pedals threatment

Hi,

After the restoration of my pedal-cluster, i want to cleanup the floorboard but for the moment i want just do the area under the pedals, later on i can do the rest.
You can see here the progress for the cleanup, but what are the next steps to do, how far should i go with the cleaning should i remove all the rubber protection of the weldings ?

I have POR15 at home black and silver also metal ready and marine clean, i have also a product of 3M (rubber) for the weldings.
I must mention that I'm a beginner.

Thanks,

Peter

From what I can see it looks like you have done quite a bit, -I did a similar job on my 914 a few yrs back, and had great luck with POR15, I used the gun metal grey color, and later re-painted over it. Since you will never see this area-I think the main thing is to get any residual brake fluid off of it, and then cover over any surface rust. The POR15 held up very well in my case.

I would clean the sealant out of the seams. If you have a dremel style rotary tool, I would use a tiny wire wheel to clean the rust out of the seams. Por 15 is a great choice. Tape off the threads before painting. I doubt you would need any seam sealant after two coats of Por 15.

Great work, I'd also use POR-15.
