Are these early Turbo or SC or 3.0 Carrera parts
I am cleaning out my garage and in one of my plastic tubs are a set heads, cams, towers, etc., still assembled together. I thought that they were 2.7 parts due to the cam towers, but as I took them apart I realized that the heads were 95mm and the cams are 930 part numbers. Here are the parts numbers.
Heads: dated 7/77 930 104 329 2R Cams: 930 105 147 7R & 930 105 148 7R (4 - bearing) Cam towers: 901 105 111 1R The heads and cams seem to be standard 3.0 SC parts, but mated to the 901 part number cam towers makes me think that they may be early Turbo or 3.0 Carrera parts. ![]() ![]()

Noah,
Thanks for taking the time to review and answer. Did they both use the 901 cam housing, as well? I always associated the 901 part number cam housings with the 2.7 (3-bearing) and the 930 part number cam housing with the 3.0 (4-bearing) and 930 engines. Was there a transition time with 901 camshaft housings changed to 4-bearing for the early 3.0 SC engines? regards, al
