That is aluminum etching primer followed by 4 coats of "Brilliant Chrome" and then 3 light coats of rattlecan clearcoat.

I started polishing it with an airtool and dremel but I lost patience and figured I'd try this first. The clearcoat "dulled" the chrome so that it is nearly a perfect match to the original body color. I used chromed mesh from an auto parts store "bling" section under the grill. I'll leave it that way a while and see how the finish holds up. I think it looks great but thats subjective.

Plates are on the way...."AIRCLD"

Oh, So it is metal and you did paint it.

Good choice, the plates should be baddass.

I'm thinking of getting plates that say oilkewd

Sorry, I did not answer your question. Yes, it is the original aluminum part. It was previously anodized black.

Actually I got it when you stated you used aluminum etching primer. I was just confirming. I am thinking of going to a metal grill. I like all the silver and chrome bits on your car. I am considering backdating a bit, maybe even to the chrome fly windows.

Well Art, as discussed a few months ago, I wish I had your Targa with my ducktail! How did your fuel issues end?
