73.5 Can I just run one battery or ?
I have the stock charging system on my 73.5 cis car I just replaced the regulator with the little black box and I also had my alternator rebuilt. I am considering not running both smaller batteries and opting for one large one, will this be a problem?

Done before, obviously you will need to take precautions due to weight distribution and making sure the remaining terminals don't ground out, making room for the larger battery.
Do a search on "dual batteries" and you should dig up a "how to" or a BTDT thread....

I run a single Optima red top mounted in the smuggler's box on my '73 without issue. Be very careful with the battery cables, as you do not want them grounding out. Mine terminate at an electrical cutoff switch mounted in the front trunk.

Yep, Optima lying on it's side. Works great. Mines on drivers side. I thought everyone had done this by now.
Do a search. |
