starter wiring - question 2
In the picture below with the stock Bosch starter, how are the two yellow wires fastened to the post? Is it a bolt or something else? It is hard to tell from under the car.
All help appreciated.

I have seen both spade connectors and eye-style connectors that attach to a threaded post with an M6 nut. I believe the earlier cars use the threaded post style.

The two Yellow #50 wires would have been on a Faston female connector, and a 0.25" tab would have been original from the factory, but, who knows after 35+ years! I have seen rebuilt SR-17 and SR-68 starters without a tab present on the solenoid M5 stud. The solenoid has M5 stud and 8 mm accross-the-flats nut.
BTW, one Yellow wire goes to the 'G' terminal [heater coil wire] of the Thermo-Time Switch on the oval breather cover, and the other goes to #1 terminal of the 14-pin connector.

![]() There are two places you can connect the ignition wire. Either work. Give me a shout if you have more probs. I had issues with my starter all spring, and finally bought a hi-torque from Pelican. I have an extra stock starter if interested. How was SE Asia? Do you still need my engine rebuilding book? Where has Steve been?
