Don't do it! Sunroofs add weight at the wrong place, and worse yet, are much more likely to result in rust issues that a roof without. If you like, I can post photos that show what happens when a sunroof drain tube rusts through. Not a pretty sight. I wish mine didn't have one. Someday, I may even go to the extent of having the entire roof replaced with a non-sunroof piece.

I removed the sunroof from my SC and replaced it with a solid roof. I was amazed that all of the sunroof parts weighed in at almost 40 pounds. Don't do it.

If installed correctly there is no problem. The sunroofs are very simple to maintain and the seals, cables, motor, transmission, etc. are easy to change and adjust. Just follow the instructions in many threads here. The drain tubes are easy to check for clogs. The whole thing is really simple.

Assuming you do not have a track car, I would never git rid of the sunroof (or in your case be afraid to add one). Mario Andretti could drive your car and not tell the difference in handling with or without the added weight of a sunroof. Driving is really nice with the sunroof open.
