Is it too early to list your winter project list?
Stuck at work late yet again this week... (luckily tomorrow is off no matter what and cell phone will mysteriously not working)...
So here I am with my overactive mind wandering, and then wondering, "what am I going to make as my first official winter project for my 911"? Is it too early to be asking for people to list their projects? I have a couple of projects I would like to work on, so I will go first... 1. I have to make some time to finish the 9 lb. muffler. It has been sitting there ever since I got everything cut apart and sectioned. Hate to start something and not finish... unless of course it has to do with women's boots...;) 2. I acquired a set of bumpers and valences for the cost of gas recently. I want to make a smoothed bumper like a few of you have already done. The one's I have seen on the list here are awesome looking to me... I also, have access to an early FG s bumper, that I always thought would look cool grafted to the bottom of my SC style bumper. Then Milt came along and set the bar up about a 1000 feet higher. I would love to try that, but not sure I could come close enough to do it justice. Milt, if you read this, I have already said a couple of times, but those bumpers you designed and are building are just "totally freakin awesome"... I really dig the rear bumper... I think I will at least try something like that with my winter project, but we'll see. 3. I need to replace my carpet at some point. Maybe this winter will be the time for it. 4. I need to finish my 6 inch "through to the primer" scratch repair. The second batch of touch up from Paintscratch was spot on. I have the scratch filled in now after a few coatings and plenty of drying time. I need to finish the sanding job to try to blend it to the level of the factory paint. Standing next to the car now, you really have to look closely to see where the scratch is. I hope once the new paint is flush and buffed, it will be VERY unnoticable... still do not even know how that scratch happened... 5. My final project is one I will not have much to do with except sending off the appropriate parts... I am hoping my wife will let me get my Fuchs widened for the rear of the car. I am leaning towards Harvey Weidman at this point, despite the waiting list... 6. Must add finishing the SCWDP website... That is enough for me... what about you?:) |
What about now?

What is winter? lol

It just means better working conditions in the garage... I plan to work like crazy on the RSR and also try to finish a rail buggy I started a year ago...
|
I plan to replace my carpet and door panels.

Starting a fluffer academy. Seriously professional outfit.
Seriously, I canŽt think of any projects on my car. Other than refitting the rear lid Carrera emblem. Started out at least five times, cutting the double sided tape, trying to make it fit exactly in the letters. Last time I came as far as 'Carr' before I gave up after an hour.. Maybe IŽll just do another completely un-called for valve adjustment for the fun of it. |
Thinking about spring projects, too cold in garage
April after it thows out a bit in MN....
New wires, cap and rotor. Doesn't need anything else this year |
Add sway bars and rebuild the transmission.

Yes it is too early. Moderators, please close the thread until at least mid-December. SmileWavy

My Plans:
Upgrade stock shocks to Bilstien Sports Upgrade stock torsions to 22/29 Neatrix springplate bushings Replace sway bushings Refinish a set of 7/8x15 fuchs Remove my worthless A/C for weight reduction |
My car has another track day to do at the end of November yet but projects on the C3 include (in this order):
|
My winter list is simply to finish last year's list.
Well, that and painting/installing the "S" front bumper I recently purchased from a fellow Pelicanhead. Someday the car will actually have the interior installed. I've gotten pretty used to the bare steel look, however. |
Let's see...
1). (mind-fall), install sport muffler, 1 in 2 out custome. 2). (mid-fall), remove hidous bumper guards, fill holes and paint. Customize and install & paint rear valance. I'm with you V8 Milt's bumpers are totally awesome, (wish he'd make molds). 3). Detail engine bay 4). And if Uncle Sam and the boss are generous POSSIBLY 17" Fiskes and tires |
1. Paint the Fuchs(polished petals)
2. Re-paint rear valance 3. Install new washer pump 4. Fix heating system |
im sure it will be done way before winter but
put in carrera oil cooler change tranny fluid to swepco 201 rotate front tires or perhaps get new ones but probrobly not check timing possibly get my heat hooked up possibly remove more a/c stuff. Speaking of which how hard is it to remove the lines that run from the front to back? |
Targa top rebuild (by cars inc.)
Targa bar respray Oil change That's about it... |
