Can an H1 Lens be used in an H4 Headlight

I have a set of NOS yellow H1 lenses.

Will these fit into an H4 headlight assembly?

Tom:

They will FIT, but the optics are quite different and I'd really recommend the H4 lenses. They are readily available and not expensive.

ditto. I have had them side by side and although they look similar, they aren't.

But, if you're thinking of daytime plastic replacements for the track or caravan driving, I'd save those H1's altogether.

one more confirmation. This is the reason I bought the H1s for my E. already had the lenses. now if only I could find one excellent chrome ring.

Shaun, I believe you can use an H4 ring if you add appropriately add two holes. After drilling, you can use a drift and a block which contains a slightly larger hole to put the proper radius on the hole in the trim ring.

I saw that post by Milt I think. The problem here for me is the job requires talent.

if someone set up a jig for repeatable results, they could do a good business for a spell.

How's the motor working for you?

I have H1s and would be interested in your yellow lenses if you care to part with them.
