Disassembly of Flag Mirror Help
Can someone enlighten me on how to disassemble the flag mirrors on an 1986 Carrera? Photos would be great! Can it be done while on the car or do they have to be removed?
Cheers. Dave.

Got me lost there for a minute... you want to remove them or take them apart to get to the motor, etc...???
You can take everything off and leave the shell still attached to the door... what are you looking to do?? replace the mirror? More info into what you are trying to accomplish would be good. I removed mine, complete with wiring, a couple of months back.

The glass carefully pries off. I think the plug has round connectors, and there is a tool for slipping them out of the big plug end, so they can be yarded through the hole for removal but if you're just replacing rubber, it's barely even minor surgery.
