Decel Valve Crush Test - 80 to 83

I heard a lot about slightly 'crushing' the deceleration valve as a hack adjustment for those of us that have non-adjustable decel valves on 80s SCs.

Many people have mentioned the crush method, but I could only find one account of someone actually doing it ... and it worked for that person.

For the record and for those that may be searching on the topic in the future, the crush method worked for me as well. I pulled the valve out and then squeezed it in a vice - probably 2 or 3 mm worth of compression. Don't crush from the outside edges of the valve where the seam is - crush it as if you were trying to flatten it slighlty.

My idle was floating and I determined it to be caused by the decel valve. After crushing and reinstalling, it works perfectly. I just saved $100 and can return the one I just bought.
