Best way to tell if my '86 has Bilstein Sports front
Recently bought the car and am in the process of doing the entire suspension over. Was told the car had Sports front and rear. Definitely Sports rear, but is there an easy way to tell in the front? Want to send them out to be revalved for my 23/31 torsion bars as long as the fronts are in fact Sports. TIA

From what I understand, if you are going to send them out to be re-valved, it does not matter what you start with. For my coil over setup, the struts I started with had HD shocks, but they were valved to work with the higher spring rates I'm using. I'm not a Bilstein expert, but I think the main difference in the HD and Sport shocks are the valving they have from Bilstein.
If I'm wrong will someone please skool me. |
Actually, I believe that the Sports are also shortened (Stroke). I know that Bilstein will also shorten your shocks as part of their service. I elected not to have them do this, as my car is at Euro height and they didn't recommended it.
