Bilstein revalving recommendations please

I'm pulling the Bilstein Sports out of my '86 to send to Bilstein for revalving. Not sure what specs to give them so looking for others who've done this to offer their advice.
'86 Carrera
headers and exhaust, otherwise stock 3.2
A/C removed
23/31 torsion bars
16x8,9 Fuchs & RA1
No more rubber in the suspension
90% track use with occasional street
(PCA instructor)

Ramone at Bilstein said they could revalve with their specs based on the torsion bar sizes but I'd certainly like to offer compression/rebound ranges to him based on my particular setup and needs.

Thoughts?? thanks

I spoke with Jack French and got his recommendations for valving. I am running 22/28 t bars and have 242 rebound 135 compression fronts and 341 rebound and 140 compression rears. This has worked well for me but now I need to go with bigger sway bars!

Talk to Rich Walton at Smartracing. I have their F30 and R30 valving and am very happy with them. I also have 23/31's.

Call Jack French at Bilstein and tell him what you have. He'll have it revalved for you. They charge about $75/shock the last time I checked.

There is an long discussion/thread (search) on this topic with Jack's contact info if you need it.

Thanks. How has the front/rear balance been with the 23/31 combo? I was tempted to do 32 rear.

I spoke with Ramone at Bilstein, but maybe I need to talk with Jack. They are still $65 per shock or $75 per strut.

Just curious, where are you in the west 'burbs?

I went the Smart Racing route also. I have 22/29 with their F10/R10 valving. So you'd go with the F30/R30 like RichMink76.

Don't make the mistake of asking them their valving specs. I did. I didn't realize that they spend time figuring out what the best valving combo is and then keep their spec secret. Even though they still just send them to Bilstein.

There are a couple of other companies that do this as well.
