engine stalls at idle when coming to a stop and is hard to restart if I gear down and allow the engine to go to 1000 rpms and then depress the clutch it does not stall it does run a little rough or sputters at a steady speed in 2nd and 3rd say 2000- 3000 rpm. 1977 911 s 72K original miles great looking car is this a fuel problem |

Too many possibilities here w/o more info. did this just start happening? Is the engine fully warmed up? When did you last have a tuneup?
Some possibilities include fuel filter, pump or injectors, and ignition components. Very often this is down to vacuum leaks, and/or a bad Decel Valve, or an incorrect mixture. If you have points, what is their condition? I see you are new. Welcome, post some pictures of your car, use the search button to find out more info, and give us more to go on regarding your problem.
