What is needed to install G50 w/3.2 into 1982 SC
The engine should slip in without issue, but I'm not sure about the new style tranny.
Can it be done by just swapping/adding parts or is there a bigger difference like mouting points and axle location changes? At this point, this is just research and nothing has actually been bought or done yet. Thanks for any input. |
2 ways to do that
1) shorten a G50 2) cut the t-bar housing and then replace w/ '87-89 version or replace rear suspension w/ coil overs. neither is easy to do or cheap and IMO not at all worth it. Spend the time, $ and energy on a 915. |
Like Bill said it won,t be easy ! and there is the costs offcourse ... i love my G50 don,t get me wrong but Wevo has some nice stuff to make a 915 into a great box.

Thanks for the very quick responses.
Will take the advice and stick with the 915. As a follow up question, will a later year (1987-1988) 3.2 bolt up to a 915? |
yes, preMY84 trans will need to cut a notch for the flywheel sensors

Send your tranny out to Gary Fairbanks. If that doesn't do it, I'd be real surprized.

Here's a couple of nice topics to make you aware of what's needed to throw a G50 into a non-G50 car.............. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/362061-project-g50-post3436141.html#post3436141 http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/280341-g50-conversion-project-begins.html |
