Tommy,
It is great to see you are back, and still working on that lovely blue targa. Please share some pictures, and more details of all that you have been up to over there.
Regards,

So far my blue Targa has carpet... So one steep ahead. My plan is to finish before next weekend as we have classic car meeting in my city so it is sometimes good to have time limit. Mean time we have taken out front left fender as I hound some small bubles on new paint ( 1 and half year ago car was painted totally like you saw on last treades) strange - only one fender -probably something happen before final painting. Fender should be back around 12.09.2007 my classic race start on 16.09 so should be in time. I should finished anything else before. To assembly fender ,put lights and so one should be done within 2 days so looks that car will be ready but as I read my first threads I plan to finished more than year ago so I dont like talking about plans any more (and cross my fingers).
Today I will put my restored Recaro seats - I now I will make some pictures. Yesterday I switch on my car first time after maybe 6-8 months -she start at ones whooo... this sound.... and this feeling I cant wait any more for first driving.
By the way I need to make all papers for new Title here -and it takes two days too. So bad news could be like that that car will be ready before 16 but papers not... will see. I put new new ball joints as well as turbo tie rods today.

Congratulations! The car looks fantastic! It must be a great feeling reaching the end of a 2 year restoration project.

Staying with the original color was a great choice. You don't see many Pastel Blue cars.

Take some more pictures when you get it outside in a nice setting.

Thanks a lot , I hope to drive my "blue" as much as it will be possible before winter, so I need to make all papers to register it within days.
As you remember I have another one "green-orange" and hope to start rebuild it this month.
Meantime I found yelow de tomaso pantera push button (first 80 hand assembly)-what do you think about such car? Should I buy it for my collection? or stay in porsche monogamy?

Tomy,
I am somewhat familiar with Panteras, i have a friend with an earlier one, very nice car, also yellow with a black interior. What is meant by "pushbutton"?

Anyway, after seeing my friend's difficulty finding rare parts and build information for these cars (all the rarity of other Italian Marques, without the high values when completed), i would say to stay with the best - Porsche, of course.

push button means that those first panteras has door buttons like mangusta had have. So it is around first 70-80 panteras ever build -and hand made!
Yes I know that it is italian car so expected all italian cars problem but this shape and ghia design looks for me perfect, from second side both ford GT 40 and pantera have both the same transaxel. So maybe? If I will find any 911 RS for rebuilding...

alignment set and so on

Hi,

I have covered first 60 miles... so perfect. I drive yesterday night 20 mils (in plus 5 degree Celcius) without roof - so cold, so nice.
I have made alignment today as well as ad turbo tie rod. It drives like new car!
So I have made next 40 miles today. My first opinion:

1.I highly recommended elephant racing front suspension Polybronze control A-arm bearings - I had have 911 T with plastic bushes in suspension before - it is not to compare. But this set up is perfect front suspension is like new car feeling!!

2. 911S engine drive like crazy and this sound ...(by the way why it is so different sound from T engine? any idea?)

3.This engine like to drive above 4000-4500 rev before is lazy let say

4. I don’t need to install any good stereo in my car - engine sound is enough.

I believe the answer to both #2 and #3 is the different camshaft profiles. 'S' is more aggressive and likes to live at the higher RPM range.

Pantera is a good investment if it is not a rust bucket. Pushbutton cars are very rare. Body parts are pricey but so are the Porsche parts. Build Info and parts are easy to find online. My brother has a 71 and it is a great city/highway cruiser and gets a lot of attention at shows. It will never handle as well as a Porsche but the values are on a steady climb and should continue due to limited production numbers. Hard to beat Italian style and american muscle. For an all around value and driving experience, Porsche is the way to go.

Just saw this. Woah, what a car!

The links in the first post don't work any longer (might be the new forum format).
Did you say which year this was? I missed it. Either the '69 or the '70. (Gotta love a man with 2 S's!!)

Yeah, both are high compression engines and don't have a lot of low end torque. In fact, one pundit tells me a T can beat an S at most of the lower speeds. But, get that thing up on the cams (above 5K) and sit back or be thrown back.

Your car is incredible. The transformation from how it looked in the beginning to how it looks now is amazing. All of the hard work you did to get the car ready for paint and interior is finished off very nicely by your choices of color and seats!

smart modification

I just upgrade oil line restrictor to 901 105 361 01 - The adapter screws into the head, and the banjo bolt from the cam oil line screws into the adapter.

"In 1991, Porsche redesigned the camshaft oil line restrictors with reduced diameter orifices on the 911 Turbo. The intended benefit was to reduce oil foaming within the camshaft housings while maintaining enough flow to effectively cool the valvetrain. However, additional benefits were apparent since the smaller orifices provided consistently higher oil pressure across the engine's full range of operation. Minimize the frothy cappuccino effect and increase your oil pressure simply by switching to these updated oil restrictors"

in my case I get 1.5 more oil pressure on 1000 rpm! so safe for engine!
