Porsche workshop in Los Angeles

Hi Everybody,

I'm Patrick and I'm new here.
I just bought a 1996 993 C2 and want to get the car checked aswell as get a garage of trust here in LA.
I know there's a lot of bad experiences around here, so please give me an info even if you had a bad experience!

Callas Rennsport is *the* place for 993s - Tony Callas loves them. Located in Torrance, those guys are a bit of a drive for you, but well worth the trip. They are working with me on my upcoming Boxster book and the 996 book too, and they are also helping me sort out some of the problems with the 959. Tony and his crew believe in doing the job right the first time around - if you want someone who is very meticulous (almost OCD) working on your car, then Tony's shop is the place. I certainly wouldn't want to be married to Tony (God bless his wife), but I can certainly trust that Tony and his crew will be super-meticulous when they work on any of my cars. They were the ones I trusted to perform the PrePurchase inspection on my 959. Here it is at Tony's shop:

Seriously - I have several friends in Malibu who go to Otto's in Venice. I'd check him out. He's an old salt though. He'll negate (with reason) virtually any modification you can think of for your Porsche. He chewed me a new one when he found out how much I spent on after market mufflers.

JHMO, but Tony Callas is really the best for 993's in your area.

He knows these cars to the last detail, even having successfully raced them for years and has a work ethic like nobody else. I wish my physician thought like he did,...

He would the only guy to touch my car in SoCAL.

Otto takes care of my '71 911E and I've always been thrilled with his work. He owns a 993 as his daily driver, so he knows those as well.

Yeah - Otto also races these cars, which means that he knows the 911 series both on the street and track, and would probably have intimate knowledge of how an owner's car would behave on both surfaces.

That's why I trusted Tyson Schmidt at TRE so highly with his recommendations. Whether it was Wilshire Boulevard or Willow Springs, he fairly much knew how my car would behave.

Jeez, I miss that guy.
