Welding Targa Top Frame-What Alloy?

Anyone successfully welded these & know what rod or wire to use?
Does anyone know what percentage, approx., of magnesium is alloyed with the aluminum in the frame peices?
I do know that burning the scrapings showed a small but noticeable amount of magnesium content, but it is hard to tell if it is only 5% or 25%.
Much thanks, Kurt

If anyone can answer this question, it would be Dan Pechtel.

Wow! No kidding? He sure is, has both parts I need for less money then welding them. $150.
Thanks much.

P.S. I'm fond of Franklin engines, even thinking of putting one together from red tagged parts to power up my Corvair powered Ultravan motor home!!!!!!!!
I collect Fairchild-Ranger inverted air-cooled V-12's---the V-770, and the 440 sixes for other reasons.
