front oil cooler thermal switch

i have a 1982 sc and have a front cooler inside the r/f fender. purchased a SPAL fan and switch kit to help with the heat, but the switch they sent was "huge"!
the nose of the switch will not even fit through the opening. They say the switch is 3/8" pipe thread and the hole atop the cooler is 7/16" pipe thread.
this is my new dilemma.
Spal does not have a switch that small, tried to source it locally with no luck. any ideas? I need a thermal switch 3/8" that fires up at 195deg. and cycles of at 175deg.

There is a temp switch for BMW that works at 195 here on PP.
Part number: 61-31-1-364-273-M323

The other choice is to get the adjustable switch from ERP (Elephant Racing).
