GPX White versus Chiffon

Man, did my painter blow it;

I bought a duck; had my hi quality bodyshop paint it; he asked what color (it has been repainted), I told him I thought possibly GPX white, but gave him my current decklid to colormatch.

Yes, you know where this is going...

I guess he opted to not colormatch the decklid, and instead used GPX white...well when it got close to the car, the GPX white is pretty bright; whereas my car is a creamy color.

Okay...my geekie question...does anyone know the pantone color for Chiffon?

My car obviously wasn't repainted in GPX; but I feel certain it was a Porsche color, the PO spared no expense in the repaint, it looks original except for behind the door panels...that's the only place it is still Mocha; I have replaced the windshield and Targa windows and doorsills, etc...and can't find mocha anywhere else?! Since he paid for such a great repaint, I'd venture it's a Porsche color.

HELP!

I've never heard of a painter who had a panel to match and neglected to us it as the basis for what they were doing! -even if your car is a perfect GPX re-paint, the painter still should use the deck you supplied as a colormatch!

If you gave him the lid to colormatch and he didn't, I'd be going back with some fairly strong, but polite, words. Something to the effect of "are you colorblind?"

IMO, he should repaint.

He will repaint, he told me that immediately when we put the duck next to the car, but still, I'm not bugged, but kinda bummed that it isn't ready; my car has been sitting for 2 mos; I started to drop it off for the duck install, then boom; it was originally black, shoulda kept it that way...just a horror story.

my car is chiffon white. the color code is 182. when i have touch-up mixed, it comes out pretty close...the only difference in color probably being due to 25 year old paint vs. new. its definately not bright white...more of a creamy off-white
