Deep Six Fuchs Questions

Could someone give me some history and applications for the "Deep Six" Fuchs that seem so popular. Were they an option at some time? Are they just a different offset than the normal 6x15 Fuchs? And, will they fit an unaltered Longhood without clearance issues? Also, maybe the same questions as applies to a 7x15 Fuchs.

Thanks in advance

Not an expert, but this is what I've picked up.

Deep 6's were available prior to 71 model year, I think. Some had "hearts" as a cut out by the valve stem, but I think that was for one or two years only (66-67?) and are rarer. You should have no trouble fitting deep 6's on any longhood as they were produced for those model years. As far as 7X15's, again, you can fit them on a long hood as long as you are careful about the tire size.

No deep 6's until 1969 model year. Hearts were 1st run then deep w/o hearts.

deep 6

to my knowledge the deep sixes came out all the way to 71 after that they had the shallow sixes. I think the early ones up to 69 had the harts/

I'm sure there is more people here that can chime in

The deep sixes and later sets of flat sixes have identical offset so I would imagine there would be no difference at all. I run 7*15's that have less offset than all the sixes (with 205/60/15 tires) and had problems with tire rub until I raised my ground to fender height to just under 25" and increased camber from close to 0 to about -1.6 degrees. Now two big people can ride in the car with aggressive driving and no tire rub.
