911S 1972 oil options

Hi all,

I'm doing my 80.000km service this week and I've been searching the web and forums trying to select the best oil and I have some doubts.

Some colleagues told me that I should use Mobil1 10W-60 but I've been reading here and also checked the Porsche ORIGINALE catalog and I've seen that 911F models (1965 to 1973) are supposed to use Mobil1 20W-50.

Any recommendation?

Thanks! Regards

Originally that car was spec'd to use straight 30w oil for summer type driving

M1 15w50 synthetic would be a good choice and readily available, though there are other options from Joe Gibbs, Penrite etc in 15w50 or 15w-40

Do your HW though and be sure that whatever you choose has from 1100 to 1600ppm ZDDP, lower and higher than that range can be costly
