Emergency brake light doesn't work

Car is a 1979 SC
Light never worked since I got the car a year ago
Only worked once when the weather was very very wet. Not sure if it has anything to do with it. Maybe some water leaked inside and triggered something

The 2 red wires have power

Globe is ok

I pulled the ground off the lever and grounded it, the light still didn't come on

Thanks Rafik

Can your source a replacement light, mine did not work when I purchased it and replaced it and Bingo.

You verified power and ground so it must be the fixture

Hi karman,

This may not be your problem because the symptoms are opposite of what I experienced but if bulb (globe) replacement does not solve your problem you may want to look here. The light housing rests on the circuit board and can wear through the solder. I guess Porsche thought it would last 20-30 years not thinking we would keep these cars for 40+ years.

Parking brake light always on

Good luck,

Rahl
