3.2 P&C'S ON A SC?????????????
 

HI FOLKS,GOT A QUESTION FOR ALL THOSE INFORMED PERSONS.CAN I PUT 10:1 COMP 95mm P&C SET ON MY 83 3.0.I UNDERSTAND THAT THESE MOTORS ARE "DIFFERENT" STROKES BUT THE BORE IS THE SAME.QUESTIONS,CAN I USE THEM,WHAT WOULD THE RESULTING COMPRESSION BE,ANY MACHINING,PRO'S AND CONS??????????????? THANKS IN ADVANCE,YOU GUYS HAVE REALLY ADDED ALOT OF PEACE OF MIND THESE LAST FEW MONTHS.PHP....

The problem is the diameter of the '3.2' piston wristpins ... it is 23 mm vs. 22 mm for your SC rod. If you had your engine completely apart, I suppose you could have your rods bored and rebushed. Unless there is something wrong with your pistons, I don't think it would be worth the trouble. It certainly isn't a 'slip-in' swap, and the resulting compression ratio, somewhere between 9.5:1 and 9.7:1, doesn't seem to justify the trouble, either!
