front spoiler lip installation on an 85 carrera

I picked up a used front spoiler lip off a fellow pelicanparter's early 80s SC and a pair of foglights. (one of mine is cracked). the foglights unfortunately didn't fit...the carreras foglights are placed inside the valence and it appears the SC are mounted differently.

so i didn't run into many problems putting the spoiler lip on; it was more a hassle getting the old busted one off! the bolts were a bit rusted so no hand untightening was allowed...all ratchet to the very last thread. couldn't even squeeze in a wrench. it was a 10mm socket and ratchet the whole way with not a whole lot of room. I had to remove the 1/2inch thick bar which goes across the front connecting the two torsion bars and i had to loosen the A/C condenser(i think that's what its called). After clearing a _little_ more room i was able to get all the bolts off and get the new lip installed....here are some before and after pics if anyone is interested....message me if you're interested in doing the job and i can fill you in more. (it's hella easy...if you can turn a screwdriver you can do it.)

old spoiler...

below you can see the old one removed with the a/c condensor exposed. if you look closely to the back left you can see the bar i removed...

new one installed!

nice tight squeeze...

hey thanks....i actually got the car two years ago just like that all painted the same color as the car. it had some aftermarket turbo twist rims that looked outta place with the spoiler. i put the fuchs on there...7/8s and it looks a lot better. some say the spoiler is still outta place, but i think with the deeper 8s in the back and the big spoiler it looks pretty mean

Dave,
The car is looking great! You have so many parts from my car we probably should have just stripped my car at your place and left the parts there

Are you doing this in your office parking garage on your lunch break?
