What is the correct name for this exhaust piece?

I am looking to list this item in the classifieds, but I'm a little confused as to the correct name for it. Is it a euro pre muffler? Cat bypass? I'm sure one (or all of you ) can help me out. It has the numbers 930.111.183.03 on it. It is made by Gillet. Also what kind of price would be fair?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Euro pre muffler. Must have come off a euro 911 with those numbers. No idea on a fair price.

Looks like a euro pre muffler or maybe an aftermarket one

Well, at least I know it wasn't a stupid question. It is new, never installed. So far 1 vote each for Cat bypass and euro pre-muffler. By the way, what is the difference? Here is another photo.

exhaust system part

It is my understanding that a "cat bypass" is a straight pipe, e.g. Bursch BA-7904-WO, while a premuffler has some sound attenuation functionality and looks like the part shown in your post.

The premuffler comes in (2) flavors: the original euro-type, and the aftermarket replacement that can be used on US-spec cars and includes a mounting location for the O2 sensor.

Fabspeed actually calls their premuffler a "premuffler/cat bypass" to confuse things further

According to the Dansk catalog, your part is:
-------------------------------------------------------------
Pre-silencer/intermediate exhaust

Dansk Productnumber: 92.100
Alternative productnumbers: 93011118301; 93011118303

MODEL, MOTOR, YEAR
911 Carrera, 3.2, 08/83-07/89
911 SC/911 Carrera, 2.7-3.0, 08/75-07/83
930 (not turbo), 2.7-3.0, 08/75-07/83
--------------------------------------------------------------

And, yes this is the part used on euro-spec cars in place of the catalytic converter.

I hope this helps.

Definitely not aftermarket. In the beginning post he gives the Porsche part number.

Hey guys I really appreciate the input. Anybody have a ballpark value? When I do a search I'm seeing prices for pre-mufflers ranging from $250-$550. Those are all aftermarket. I'm not looking for top dollar but I don't want to sell it for $100 and find out later it was worth $750.
Thanks

I know someone who picked up a OEM Euro-premuffler $65.00 and it was well used. Dansk made a copy that has the same basic shape, but was about $450.00 new. I picked up a used good condition Dansk for less than $150.00.

For clarification, this one has not been used and does have the o2 mounting location.

The build quality of the Dansk is better than the OEM. I know the numbers I gave were for used pre muffs, but I don't think you are going to find many people that know what a new OEM pre muff is going to cost. Maybe because it is a new genuine Porsche part, you can get more for it. I don't know.

You can always start with a bigger number and if it does not sell, keep lowering.

OK, according to Pelican Parts, the thing is worth $591.75, but there is no picture to make sure it's the same part.

That's what it would be worth if someone wanted it new from Pelican. There is no functional advantage to it over a cat bypass. I'd try for 300 at first and see what happens.

premuffler - US or Euro?

Your photo doesn't show the O2 mounting location.

The Dansk part - threaded connector on the body:

The Fabspeed part - threaded connector on the pipe:

A quick search will show that these units, with the O2 mount, go for $275 - $400 new. Resale value - maybe 1/2 to 3/4 of that.

The existence of the O2 sensor mounting location is preferred by many for US-spec cars, and may impact the value.

My sources list the part numbers for the units with the O2 mounting bung as 93011118301INOX; 93011118303INOX.

The difference in sound level between the straight pipe cat bypass and one of these unit is significant, even with a standard muffler.

just wondering what does a pre-muffler have on the inside is it like a glass pack or just all open like a resonator?

I sold one that had the bung for about $100-150 if I remember right. That was last year. I am pretty sure it was stainless. I was told by the PO it came off of a euro car.

This is the inside of a Dansk, which looks like an OEM as well.
