Looks like the heat exchanger has one heater outlet on each side but the muffler is a one out type. There are several other types, like SSI, Dansk, B & B, Bursch.
Might look on the parts page :http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/shopcart/SubCat/911M-Exhaust.htm

Only with headers rather than heat exchangers.
![]() The headers are siamesed before they enter the silencer, hence one inlet and one outlet. Sorry about crummy photo. |

I think the photo is a little deceptive due to being cropped for the white background. As far as I am aware the Hayward & Scott system has one out for each heat exchanger in the usual fashion, and thus a 2 in muffler as with SSI's etc. I've heard they use all custom dimensions though, so that only their 2 in muffler would work with their exchangers.
They look like a beautiful peice of work, but what a price!

The original subject line says " one out heat exchangers", which does not make sense. The one out, as you've all correctly stated, is for the muffler. Either you have exchangers, which have one heat outlet per side, or you have headers without exchangers or you have one of the custom header systems with heat exchangers, like SSI's. Most of the others do have custom sizing and require the entire system as pointed out by Charles.
So oldschoollear, what is your actual question?

I have an one in-out muffler, I would like to have heat exchangers/headers that wold allow me to keep the muffler I currently have. This appears to be what is advertised on the H&S site. It almost seems they have just"capped" one of of the outlets. So out of the engine normally, with one connection for the muffler. I hope this makes sense.

OK, I see what you are saying and closely looking at the picture is very difficult to tell if the crossover pipe at the muffler is for the h/e or if that is the feed to the muffler. That is a very odd set up. I think you'll have to email them and ask for more details. In their customer section, they show a 911S but from the back end you can see it is a two in system. From the bottom, the h/e's on the 911S look like factory h/e's.

I'm pretty sure the crossover pipe you can see in the photo at the muffler is the cool air feed to the heat exchangers, not for exhaust gases. I think H&S however do make a cross over pipe and cat bypass for standard heat exchangers for use with a 1 in/1 out muffler - maybe this would be an option? I don't know if a non-H&S made 1/1 muffler would fit it though. Yeah, your best off emailing them for more info I guess.
