do a search for 'continental orange' and you should find cars that would give you a preview of it

excuse my ignorance, but isn't the continental orange different than the gt3rs orange?

i am making a guess here that no one is going to be trying to paint-match the car exactly to factory specs. instead they will just 'make it orange' and that will be that. maybe i'm wrong.

I'm thinking that your right - I bet you would get more looks and some info on the OT.

Porsche Crest orange , orange and more orange

I have been looking at hunderds of orange 911s lately, 107 continental orange , 8c6 gt3 orange and 116 signal orange are all different, I am awaiting orange 156 in the mail before i make my decision. I was shocked to see the gt3 orange darker than the singal.

Remember that a small paint swatch or sample is going to be "darker" when you get it on the car and it becomes a LARGE paint sample. The rule of thumb I use is....I pick the color I like on a sample and go one shade lighter when making the final decision.

Oh, onebad911, IMO the gt3rs orange on your car will look FANTASTIC! It's your car...do what you want and don't worry what others think. I don't see anyone giving Jack grief about his Black Beauty II.

I'll do the photoshop color for you if you still want me to. Let me know.

I am certainly still a newcomer, but I have never been able to figure out why there is not a forum dedicated to cosmetics, interior and exterior. On this thread, the poor guy got blasted for posting a paint question on the TECHNICAL forum. But, it seems to me that a question regarding paint ought to be non-OT as well. Does anyone know if there is a reason there has not been a separate forum for cosmetics up to this point?

Yeah, I am starting to dig it as well! But then, it is your car...

I just wish you had a different bumper up front, no offense, I remember that that is what came with your car when you bought it. Maybe you should switch to a IROC front bumper when you repaint it, and maybe put a black hood on it... I know, it's me, but I think it would look hot with the orange! Maybe soem of the PORSCHE vinyle decals across the front of the hood, or black hood with the decals across the front flat of the bumper...

Oh yeah, H4's would really do your car justice... maybe even with the black deco rings, instead of color matched to the orange

There seem to many posts in this section that would not "qualify" as a technical issue. The guy just asked for help with a photoshop on his car. Why the blast, because he isn't from So Cal with 10,000 posts?

At first I was saying "yeah" when I read your post. I too think the guy kind of got blasted unnecessarily, but in fairness to the socal guys (used to be one) the guy doing the blasting this time was from Denver and has 222 posts to his credit. This is all the more reason we need some sort of cosmetic forum on the board...

IMO This type of post would be great for the Paint and Body Forum which has been discussed but doesn't exist.
