Question Headlight pinout question

The po of my 86 911 did some strange things to this car. I noticed the right headlight was on high beam while the left headlight was on low beam. I switched the wires around to match the schematic in my Bentley manual and now I get high beams on both lights at the same time. The silverstars (9004st) are really dim on low beam. My question is do the brown wires go to the center connection in the lamp socket? Looking at the lamps from the back of the socket I have yellow and green/yellow going to the right hand side of the respective lamps. I have blue and blue/white going to the left side of the sockets. I would like for someone to confirm this is correct. I stopped working for the night so no voltage readings yet. I have done the relay change so thats not the problem. I hate to think this is as bright as they get!

I found my answer on a Jeep forum. God help you if you ever mix up your socket wires and physically wire them they way the Bentley manual shows. They are shown electrically correct but not physically correct.

Thanks for the help guys. If you look at the Bentley schematic you (or at least I) would think the ground wire hooks to the center pin on the headlamp circuit. That is not the case as you can see by RoninLB's drawing. I suspected that was the case when my headlamps were so dim. I was a troubleshooter on elevator circuits for many years and they did the same thing. The schematic is electrically correct but the wires don't hook up in the left to right sequence shown on the schematic. My wiring was incorrect when I bought the car so I had to go in search of the correct physical hookup. Thanks again!
