Just wondering, because I reckon lots of you Porsche fans would love it. I have been playing it for about a year and is possibly the best racing game I have ever played.
Many of the cars are in it, too many 356's tho and not enough racing models. About 4 extra cars were released from EA; 959, 911 GT2+3 and 928 GTS. I go through stages of favourite cars to race with (it just keeps me sane until I can afford the insurance). Current fave is a '73 2.8 RSR in purple. Sweet. ------------------ '72 911E Sporto |

Yup, got the game, but haven't played it much. Too much frikin midterms! Very nice, but graphics could use a little help. I love it, but cannot say it's the best one I've ever played.

I dunno Jeff, I think the gfx all depends on your hardware. It looked fairly crappy on my old k6-2 system w/tnt2 but on my 1GHz Duron with Radeon DDR in 1280x1024 res it looks really sweet.

Got it for the PC, and I enjoy the heck out of it. I bought it off Ebay for $10. I liked it enough to spend $100 a couple weeks later to buy a force feedback steering wheel and pedals.

I got it the day it was released. Very awesome game. We all need to get together online and race. Who has an online account with EA?

What a great game! My boy and I are playing (taking turns) right now. I have been really dying to drive my car around lately, but the crappy weather and moonscape roads have kept me from it. This game is just the ticket.

I've been playing it since it came out. Looks great on any modern 3D card on any system more than 500mhz.
I did all the Factory Driver stuff except the very last 'mission' - I couldn't ever get those 360's down. The Evolution mode is a blast, though! I still haven't bought all the great cars, but I did make it through to the Modern era. It's a lot of fun with an FF wheel - I recommend the Logitech one if you like wheels. Lately though I've been playing with a joystick and I find I can react a heck of a lot faster ![]() ------------------ Mark Szabo 1986 911 Targa 3.2 1987 Escort 5-speed 1.9 The Porsche Owners Gallery |

I play too (PC). This game is going to end up costing an additional $150...I am going to upgrade to a more powerful AGP video card. The graphics are great. Another good but older game with great Porsche racers is Sports Car GT Racing by EA also. Check the bottom photo here:

A lovely game. I enjoy it on rainy weekends like these, in Atlanta.
Can you download the extra cars for the PC version? If so where? I have completed Evolution a few times. I like the Golden Era the best when you can slide the cars around the turns ![]() The trick I have found is to increase the downforce on the front of the car to prevent plowing in turns. I drive old school style with the arrow keys... Maybe Santa will bring a feedback wheel. ------------------ Adrian Pillow 1979 911 SC 1966 VW Microbus PCA - Peachstate Region |

Mark, It took me ages to get the 360's down, but I have it sweet now. Enter the turn, hit the handbrake, shift into neutral, as the car comes round, full opposite lock and into 1st. I loved that one where you had to 180 then reverse, 180 again and carry on
![]() Yeah, online all ppl play is with 993 Turbo's and it gets boring. The Carrera RS is by far the most entertaining with a wheel, turn in, initiate slide, boot the throttle, and get the back end in line again - so fun. THe 911 GT3 is fun though and the 935 'Moby Dick'. You can download the cars at www.earacing.com and www.nfscheats.com is a good site for NFS:PU related stuff. There have been a number of attempts in the commmunity to hack the file formats to make new cars but it has proved almost impossible as it seemed Porsche must have paid $$$$ for the licence and they have made it rock solid. ------------------ '72 911E Sporto |

As a bonus, Sports Car GT came with my Logitech Force Feedback wheel.
There are 2 things I was a little disapointed in with the game. The selection of "golden era" 911's is a little lacking. There are 30+ variations of 356, but only 10 or so non turbo 911s. You get a 65 911, a 67 911S, a 72 911S, and a 73 911 RS. You can choose a coupe or targa, but I would still have liked to see an RSR, SC and Carerra as well. The other was the tracks. I was hoping to be able to run actual road courses, (like in Sports Car GT) rather than the touring courses in the game. Le Mans would have been cool, and the old Nurenburg ring would have been awesome. Don't get me wrong, It is a great game, but it could be a little better. Tom 82 SC Coupe |

If you guys like Porsche Unleashed, and you want to further test your computer driving skills, get a copy of Grand Prix Legends. The PC game came out about three years ago and is the definitive reacing sim for hardcore sim racers. No other racing sim released to date can touch it car-physics simulation (the car will rock on its suspension when the engine is rev'ed) and the accuracy of the courses. This game simulates the 1967 F1 season. Twelve-hundred pound cards with 400 hp engines on skinny bias ply tires. Racing is on all of the classic GP circuits (Old Spa, Monza before the chicanes, Silverstone before the chicanes, and the 140+ turns of the old Nurburgring). Check it out and you guys will learn suspension setup and application that could help you enjoy your P-cars more.

Guys, try Grand Prix Legends!!! Simulates 1967 GP season, racing on classic GP courses (Monza without chicanes, old Spa, 144+ turns Nurburgring, etc.) with a car physics engine that makes Porsche Unleashed cars seemed like they're riding on rails (the chassis rocks when the engine the rev'd). Also has extensive setup options that'll let you instantly 'feel' setup changes. Try it, you'll like it.
Let me know if you guys want more info. DW 89 Targa |

If you guys like racing games you have to get the game GT Racing. I have Porsche unleashed and I do like it but GT Racing is the most realistic game I have ever played. And they have both GT3, GT1 Porsches.

Sorry for the double post. Didn't think the first one made it into the forum. I feel strongly about this sim.

I bought GPL when it came out. At the time I had a k6-300 with ATi Rage 4meg AGP card and it ran like cr*p. I also didn't have a wheel and found it astronomically hard with keyboard. So I sold it. I think I should try and reaquire it now I have decent hardware.
PU is too easy though, the AI provides no challenge so it p*sses me off when online racing aint working - which is most of the time. ------------------ '72 911E Sporto |
